A little about "Lu"

The calm beauty of the wooded, rural setting where Lu now resides is a far cry from the suburban streets where she was raised. The climate suits her here in South Carolina, so here she'll stay, in love with the bright, clear sunshine that creates the shadows with which she is fascinated. Lu is compelled to paint them in so many ways, with different colors, shapes and sizes. "Just as with people, the shadow side can be filled with depth, wonder and joy, but most importantly with Joy."

Acrylic paints, with their versatile nature, fit her spontaneous approach. She is usually drawn to a warm palette with cool accents. "When my paintings begin to glow and make me smile, I know I'm on the right path. My goal is to transfer my joy of life through the paint and share it with the viewer."

Lu's philosophy

I believe life, and consequently art, is a journey. After years of structured, realistic painting, those lessons have been learned. Now, most of my work comes straight from my heart and mind, and out the fingers. For one person to be touched by an image could truly be an undeniable self connection.
